Children start to reflect on their deeds after they accept to take responsibility of their lives.
How do we make children take this responsibility earnestly? When a child has to stand in front of the parents to give account of his/her learning experience and pinpoint all the ways with which to improve, they take responsibility of their academics earnestly.
All our classrooms have white boards upon which we do outreaching, but our pupils use these white boards even in the PLC. Here the students get to create slides on their learning experience and control it while they present to their daddies and moms how well they have gone through a term learning and what they can do to even improve upon their scope of learning.
When they sustain the understanding that they will account to their parents how well they learn, they will never have to play as the teacher teaches. They take their studies seriously; carry out their research and assignment adroitly.
